Understanding the past offers insight
into the present, and lessons for the future.
How can we mobilize digital technologies to reconstruct the past, understand the present, and prepare for the future?
Laura K. Harrison is an archaeologist and heritage professional specializing in the use of innovative 3D digital technologies to advance scientific and public understanding of fundamental issues in the social sciences.
Her research harnesses the power of technologies such as laser scanning, photogrammetry and virtual reality to increase understanding and appreciation of the world's irreplaceable archaeological heritage.
Laura's current projects include digitizing salvage archaeology datasets, using 3D models to aid in the conservation and preservation of endangered archaeological sites, building an interactive virtual museum, and leading technical workshops on digital archaeology.
